Wrong server most likely, make sure you are on Quakenet

when you open mirc type

/server irc.quakenet.org:6667

and it'll take you to quakenet

/join #daoc.prydwen takes you to the wonderful world of, well, us, prime place for shouts of SPY and CHEATER, blamed for many a defense or otherwise interception of attacks, raids or that one time when some guy was killed by an assassin.
