IRC Networks link bot?

Does anybody know if anyone offers an IRC bot that links channels together that are on different networks? TFXSoft off Morat used to offer but they don't anymore and my clan really needs one. Alternatiely, does anybody know if I could download a mIRC script that will do the job, as our jcl has mIRC running practically 24/7 so he could be the bot. =]

Thx.

Ask ItchyTriggerFinger he knows about all these BOTs (Think he has his own personal one)

I've never heard about a bot being able to link two networks and I doubt there is such script tbh. If there is such bot, then I am 100% sure it will not be a free service.

Read my thread. It doesn't link two networks it links a channel on one network to another channel on another network. E.g., #c3k on QuakeNet to #c3k on IRCNet. I've had one in my channel before so it does exist. :)

I read your thread and thats what I was saying as you cant just link an entire network with a single bot. There are bots that can link two channels but they run on unix environments and are written in Perl which make them unrunnable on Windows. You can buy a shell account and find/write the script on Perl and run it on your shell but that will provide you with a monthly bill.

I've spoke to TFXSoft last night and their bot was write in VB, so it runs on Win32. They don't have a Win32 server at the minute so they can not run it permantly. :/

it could be done with a mIRC bot reasonably easily, with the multi server option available in mIRC. A simple version of this would require just a few lines of code, to relay messages, a more advanced version could also relay channel modes, joins and parts and also a system to prevent the bot being flooded off for relaying too many messages at once. This would be the major problem, as if the channels are busy you may end up with a rather long backlog and quite a delay on the messages being relayed.

I'm trying to think of an easy way to do it, involving the eggdrop botnet, but you'd need a tcl script to do the output. I've not got one myself, never had the need.

I checked a few of my bookmarks, and I think this is the most useful link for you. If you are running an eggdrop that is.

Tis rather useful:

404: Not Found
The requested URL /tclhtml/1256-0-1-network.htm was not found on this server.

If you arrived here via a link from another site, the page may have moved and the link may be outdated. Visit the egghelp.org home page and try to find the document from there. I recently did a lot of changing around and many page extensions have changed from .shtml to .htm, among other things.

If you were trying to access a results page from the Tcl Archive directly, please keep in mind that these pages are only temporary (usually lasting less than 24-48 hours) and you will need to perform the search again.

Here is a static page on that site. Type network in the box, and that'll give you the same page.

It doesn't actually. It echo's the text to the window so you dont have to change windows to view other text, you can't actually RELAY it.
I want ir RELAYED so that user's in #c3k on IRCNet will know what is being said #c3k on QuakeNet, and vica versa. :)

Not to sound stupid, but why not just pick a single network for the channel & move there, most IRC clients are multiserver these days so anyone bitching they don't wanna switch network don't exactly have a great arguement.

Our clan has both UK and Skandinavian divisions. The majority of our .sca players are icelandic and their icelandic clans use IRCNet. Also, the majority of them use bnc's which only allow them to connect to one network and do not want to contact to two networks.

It does, its an addon within the script.

It is called Rerouting in PnP.

I had some Eggdrop scripts that did it a while ago, but that was back in the day when I played Planetarion and used them for spying.

Also, not quite sure, but I think the energymech bot can do this. Have a search on google.

Thats cool, soz I was just curious. There were a couple of channels on Quakenet that run linkbots themselves, i'm struggleing to remember them off the top of my head at the moment, but i believe they run an eggdrop with a script.

If i remember something useful i'll post it, soz, been drinking.

No really, it does work! I@ promise you, I've used it a couple of times (couple of mates use to manage to get themselves banned from the Demon admin channels)

Admin abuse. Joined the channel after being banned from the server for calling the Admin a Nazi. Still carried on with the profanities :p
