Is there a way to connect to irc without downloading it?

A link or something that opens the programme?

E.g. Another website has this http://irc.thardferr.com/ is there anything similiar ?

IRC means Internet Relay Chat
it is NOT a program

get www.mirc.com for connection

oh and yes it IS possible to connect to an IRC-network without a client installed on your computer, you should be able to find some homepage with a javascripted client on it

You don't need to be a subscriber to use webchat, just a member.

if you get to be all anal so, can i :)

IRC is a protocol : http://www.irchelp.org/irchelp/rfc/rfc.html

you however can't connect with a "javascripted" client since javascript is rather unable to open sockets etc , hence unable to make a connection to an irc daemon.

You want a java applet (JPilot or the likes)

ill skim through me endless collection of links, but i think you're better off searching the forum since there has been a thread about it with a working page

Try "telnet irc.fragzone.se" and you'll be hooked on to it. That's the raw way, w/o downloading anything :). You just have to learn the commands :p
