I dunno you can still pick up a decent netbook for 200-250 quid

That is the problem, netbooks started around the £120 price mark, they are now overlapping the budget laptop market and, let's be honest why pay for a netbook at £300 when you can have a proper laptop at the same price?

As people demand more from netbooks, prices go up.

True, but the portablity is a major issue for people like me in uni, i like the fact i can slip it into my bag and go. Also the battery life is superiour to a laptop and also the £300 laptops dont seem to last 6 months from what i have seen.

With my net contract i had the option of either, i went with the netbook as i thought that the new "trendy thing" would be better built than a £300 laptop. So far it seems to be holding up ok

not bad for a £900 bit of kit
You can surf the net (although a little slower than a proper netbook)
You can enjoy no keyboard (and get pissed off with the on screen one just like the ipod)
You can watch movies on it (or else just use your shiny big HDTV thats already hooked up to your PC/laptop)
You can send emails (which no-one does anymore unless its work related) ... See more
Its portable, you can carry it anywhere (providing you use a laptop type bag)
And you can use it on your period. Banging

So many people will buy this just because its apple. Its sad and just makes you look pretentious. Im not bashing apple (well i am) i have an iphone and its brilliant. I just dont see the point in this product in the personal home other than look at me look what ive got

i love the whole concept of slate pc's and the minority report sorta stuff, but i just think you'd look a tit with one and you'd probly get it robbed anyway.

I put this right up there with the iBike I recently saw in the US. The fashion sheep will buy it regardless of spec or whatever else is out there. I get the feeling that if MAC started a religion it would take over half the world.
