anyway of changing your IP?
I heard if u wait it changes itself, but there must be a way of changing it when u want ....
(im on blueyonder)

your best bet is to turn off the power to the modem/connection for a few hours, think its 4 hours (NTL is anyway), and you should get a new ip. Just a guess based on my connection.

maybe leave it unplugged from the mains overnight?

Unplug it for 2 hours on blueyonder. Should give you a new ip.

I've known one BY user who had to leave their modem off for almost 3 days to get a new IP lease. Depends which chunk of their network you're hooked into.

Why do you need a new IP anyhow, did you get yourself banned from Quakenet or something?

i got banned from some forum, because i had 2 usernames by mistake and they said that is a bannable offence.
So if i make a new username with my new ip, they wouldnt know it was me. :p
left it off all night, will test it when iget home from work.

because after 6,12 and over 24 hour tests reconnecting re-leased the same ip - he went away for a weekend - 2 days, leaving it offline for over 48 hours, and STILL got the same lease, so in the end shut it off on the monday and come thursday had a new IP...

And I've know a couple of spods on IRC to do similar when they've been banned, hence my question.

well, maybe, put it this way, you've got a 1 in 25 chance still if you're only going to give me the last digit. PM me it or use www.whatismyip.com .

Silly me, i didint take out the big white wire.
Just left it out for 3 hours an my I.P has changed now.
