Investing my coin

So i'm slowly investing my money in things to make me more money and open more opportunity to me.
I've been doing research and decided a tower crane operator is what i want. I've worked on site for ages. The work is hit and miss and the money can be awful sometimes.
As a crane operator it opens opportunity to work in canada and aus etc. theyre a sought after 'trade'. There are many jobs for an operator so i'll never be out of work.

Does anybody have any experience with this?

Cheers chaps. Yeah i'm off to sheffield on a 10 day course in a few weeks. £2317 for the license and slinger/banksman/signaller certificates aswell.

I'd love to knob off to australia or canada etc for 12 months and stack some coin. Live my life. I'm getting my fingers in as many pies as i can so i can eventually settle down with a nice house and provide a half decent upbringing for my kids

If you can combine that with a trade or two (eg sparky, plumber, carpenter, HGV driver, etc) you'll never be without work. You might even be able to put a shelf up at last :p:D. GL

Some of our mechanical and electrical engineers get paid silly money and put up in a hotel if it's a long job. Specialising in the construction industry can be a very good income. Good luck :)

A cousin's husband is an electrician. He gets jobs all over the world - often for months at a time. He's earning a blinding wedge by all accounts.

I'd say spend your money getting a gas or electrical qualification Laddey. Although the crane thing seems more specialised and looks like it will get you jobs all over, it might be worth doing the leccy / gas / plumber route as a back up.
