interrupting casting......

Doesnt it seem strange that if a tank is attacking you, even when not actually swinging his weapon it interrupts your casting.
Is there a way, for example to get really high dex, that would stop this happening?

If you have already used quickcast its like standing there just waiting to die. :/

Not really anything you can do about it, blame it on the coding :)

It's a rather big issues (for the players at least) on US, wether we'll see a fix (Perhaps a RA to get better at avoiding interruptions) or not I dunno.

Im not 100% sure about this, but I've read somewhere that your weapon spd affects the time for the "tick".

and since all caster staffs are 4.0 that means 1 long interuption tick :(

anyway I ahvent seen any testlogs or tried it myself, might give it a go...

It has something to do with 'ticks' yes.

And, because Mythic didnt want to give the users of slow weapons (like 6.0 spd polearms) a disadvantage the 'tick' lasts the whole swing.

So, if you are up against a polearmsman and he presses attack, he can interrupt you anytime withing the 6.0seconds it takes to swing the pole, which means if you stun him after 1.2seconds (quickcast a stun) he will still be able to interrupt you for another 4.8 seconds. This is how it is intended to work and can be very frustrating, especially when a corpse is interrupting you (has happened to me twice).

To avoid getting interrupted get Mastery of Concentration - a RA that costs 14 skill points but grants you 15 seconds of uninterrubtable casting (vs. even con, vs higher con theres still a chance to be interrupted). It can be used once per 30 minutes.

EDIT: The actual timing of the interruption withing the tick is random. It may occur 0.1s-5.9s after the swing started.

Gotta love those ticks

Not sure if its still about but I think there used to be a bug where archers could interrupt a caster they have targetted too before they even fire due to the lovely ticks.

(can tell im not a caster huh).

There is a little light at the end of the tunnel for anyone that casts spell, taken from the 1.55 patch notes, if a tank is guarding you:

- Performing a successful Guard or Intercept no longer causes an interrupt to a caster who is guarded.

or for the full notes goto:

Should help a little with a friendly tank nearby
