Ok.. I just moved house and have no broadband yet. So im suffering on aol 56k. Aol are shit ofc, but they are great in times of need like now, because they let you have the free month :p

I know very well that the network will be slow as hell, but my dad needs to use internet on his pc whatever the speed. So.. is it possible to share the internet when using aol? If so.. how :p

I know normaly you just click share tjhis connection or whatever, but aol do it differently with their own silly ram hoging program :p

1. set the network adapter IP to 192.168.0.1 subnet 255.255.255.0
2. make sure the PC is in a workgroup i.e. HOMENET and give the PC a name like hostpc
3. goto your internet con and click share this connection

client -

1. set the network adapter to obtain an IP automatically
2. set the DNS to 192.168.01
3. set wins resolution to use DHCP
4. set the gateway to 192.168.0.1
5. make sure the PC has joined the workgroup

Before ICS there was "WINROUTE"

Give it a go as it should ignore AOL and just simply share whatever net connection you have.
