Internet Explorer History?

I've got a problem at a client site where they can't access their internet explorer history older than "today". The buttons for "yesterday", "2weeks ago" etc. are all there, but clicking on them does nothing. This is running in a citrix environment, so I'm not sure if it's something to do with that, but one thing that would help me diagnose this problem is if I knew where the bloody history was kept?

I've checked all the usual folders, but I can't find it anywhere? Anyone know?

(It's Citrix using win2k terminal services)

Hi nath

I'm afraid I have no experience with Citrix, but in Windows 2000 and XP based machines, the history is stored in the user profile, although the parent folder ('Local Settings') is hidden by default. Just navigate to "C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\History".

Having searched the Microsoft site there seems to have been a few minor History issues in the past, but most of these have been rectified by various patches.

I'll be sure to let you know if I find out anything else of relevance

Kind Regards

Citrix doesn't affect a whole lot. The profiles are simply stored on the DC in our case, rather than on the local machine of whoever is logging on. I've checked the local settings folder, and can't find anything there. 'tis bizarre. Cheers for the speedy reply, I'll keep on looking.

Ja, but I'd have thought that then there'd be no folder for "2 weeks ago"

Just for reference purposes, if you use IE's clear history function, all history folders are deleted. Only if you were to manually delete the history files would there be the chance that the folders would remain.

You may wish to also check the cookies, nath, as wiping the histoy doesn't erase them. This would at least give some indication of what sites have been visited and when (by the created date).

Kind Regards

Cheers Jonty.

What it is, is a fairly high up chappy at a company we do it services for has suddenly lost all but "today" from his history. Ie is still set to prune it at 20 days, and he didn't delete them manually.

It's a bit strange, I'll keep at it and let you know. Cheers for help though.
