Not found by me but:

The aeroplane graveyard in Tucson was amazing.

The Forbidden City in Beijing is also a sight to behold.

That's one fine application, i'm amazed by some of the detail it Google Earth. I zoomed in on ground zero in NYC and it's coming along nicely, then I zoomed in on the hotel I stayed in Tenerife, then I zoomed in on my sister's house in London.

Talk about Big Brother watching you. The road functionality will come in very handy.

Forbidden city was cool, however check this out:

lat 38.294315 lon 117.653255

height 120 miles. Whats all that blue stuff? Strange.

Thers another bit at -1.222121 37.048983 just near Nairobi.

Is this Google filtering out stuff that isn't supposed to be looked at?

A plane coming in to land a Edinburgh Airport :)

The hill in New Zealand where they filmed the Edoras scenes in LotR :p

The house where I grew up outside Dunlop near Kilmarnock (see below, Top right one). Middle of nowhere but just inside the border of Glasgow's high res images.
Ironically you can't make out my flat in Edinburgh City centre :(

Also, are those subs at 56.0202917008, -3.45155963858 in Rosyth? Seems to be a fair few..

Nice. haven't seen this before. The US stuff is very well done but it goes to pot a bit in some parts of the world (my street for instance, has better resolution on Multimap), but it is a beta after all, and I guess it'll be a long time before they can do all that 3-D building stuff everywhere. The 'Flying' function is just luvverly :)

Just spent a few minutes zooming in on the White House, the Pentagon and Langley Virginia (CIA headquarters), so my web traffic is probably being monitored right now :)

Sorry for the doublewhammy:

Weird that "constellation" of blocks near southpole...

Clicky

Looks like a crater, it continues making it a full circle.

Its a bunch of Islands that are nominally part of the South Orkneys (although it seems a bit disputed - as ever - down there). They're caused by the South American and Antarctic plates pushing against each other; I think Antarctica is moving north and South America is moving west. There's a better pic here.

Taking Toms sites, you have:
Code:
Tom: 32'40'34.70" N 117'09'28.56" W
Google: 32d40'34.70"N, 117d09'28.56"W

Tom: lat 38.294315 lon 117.653255
Google: 38.294315,117.653255

What the hell is all that red stuff in Alaska? Looks like blood. :\

There's fire and what looks like a lot of white smoke coming out of the middle of it. Looks fucked up.

62 50 33 N
155 27 00 W

Is it a forest fire or something? I'm clueless about this sort of thing but that looks really fucking weird to me.

Best way to point people towards stuff is to create a pushpin, save it to a file on the desktop, and then host it and link it. Google Earth opens it and flies straight there :)

Iron ore perhaps? Looks man-made.

/edit: Think its a forest fire tbh, there are others to the NE of that location.

are they actually black when you flew over them, or is this an anomaly of google earth?

No, but they are darker. If you zoom out, you can see a couple more to the southwest, but lighter coloured; I always assumed they were some kind of farm layout, but they are absolutely huge.

They're half a mile in diameter - pretty damned large. There's loads of them in the surrounding area - some very green. There's a group of 4x2 of them to the north west of there.
