Interestig computer problem...

Not so much interesting as annoying. Here's the story:

My cousin had a crap computer.

My cousin wanted a better(atleast a bit).

He added a 512meg memory in it(wurd).

Also added a Radeon 9200.

Now the problem came up.

Computer won't shut down Neither with sleepmode or shut down. It only restarts with all options given. Ain't really healthy shutting it down manually between loadup or leave it on 24/7 so some help would..well...help.

Might get the detailed specs for the comp but..umm..1500mhz or something and win XP...hell..ain't no techie.

I would start with the bios upgrade...

Disable all sorts of power saving options, suspend to this and that etc. Worth a try! 'sides, it's evil anyway.

Sounds like ACPI to me. You can Google that, but the only sure-fire way (and cleanest) to resolve this to to reinstall XP.

quite possibly a driver conflict...
i've come a cross a few instances of drivers causing this problem, its always been either modem or NIC drivers that have borked it for me
