Intent to Post PS Beta on FTP

I have 15 mins until the download starts. After it's down (barring disconnects) I'll happily upload it to the FTP. Hopefully by the time work finishes. I'll post the link here and in the thread on the General forum. Stay Tuned.

yeh, 32 hours aswell for me on the slowest choice avaible to dload.
Btw i read the beta there was only for those that was registred in gamespy/fileplanet(dunno which one).
But can u play this beta even if u aint?

But i closed it to play other games until someoen can tell me if i can play it without being a subscriber to gamespy/fileplanet

The one I'm currently downloading has the filename planetside_beta.exe I'm wondering if the one that is already on the FTP may be the one that was released for fileplanet subscribers only, and may in that case require some kind of key.

If anyone manages to download the file that is already on the FTP then please post as to whether you can play with it and I won't bother uploading the one that I'm downloading.

It should be down by about 7:00PM GMT and I suspect the upload would take about 40 mins if it is needed.

I'd suggest making sure you are registered on fileplanet before installing, the installer launches a web page that gives you your key.

Ok, the one in the demo directory is 1432876084 K.

The one I downloaded is 1432876078 K.

The difference of 6 K could be where theyy removed some key auth stuff. If you are unsure then I've uploaded my version to here.

I should have it back down onto my machine (Using works machine to upload) in about 20 mins. I'll repost if it works ok.

Lol. Installed fine from my copy. ! 1/2 hours of patch downloads to wait for now. Guess I'll be playing this after work tomorrow then :)

well i just got up and i have installed planetside it has accepted my key and is now downloading the path shit.

so it looks like that smaller file will work. yip :clap:

Took 6 hours for me from a swedish gaming site.. feels good since gamespy fucked up on me. Lucky me i woke up at 3am to the sound of my comp. :)
Started the dload then and is on 3 hours now :)

Well I ended up staying up till 1:00am waiting for the patching to finish (Silly). I have to say I was quite impressed. Didn't really know what I was doing, but I'll read some FAQs and manuals and see if I can't give it a better go tonight.
