Here's some news on the RoWeb 20-22nd LAN Gaming event at Marlborough, sposored by INTEL (UK) mainly about the prototypes Intel will be running at the event.
At the October RoWeb Lan party Intel are going to showcase their brand new 530 and 535 switches. (Only prototypes are available at the moment making it the fastest LAN Party network of its size anywhere we believe). All future LANs will be using varied Intel network topologies to see what suits the gamers best.
These LAN switches were MADE for LAN gaming. They support a 2.6 Gb backbone which means that is a 2.6 Gb backbone EACH. The total stack including the matrix module we will use offers a 10.4 GIGABIT BACKBONE !!!!
