Right, i was banned for 18 months and that ban is up, it will be 3 yrs ago in a few months when that happened, i have to take my test again and looking at insurance sites on the net they are all asking if i have had any accidents or convictions in the last 5 yrs, are there any sites you guys know about that only ask if i have had any accidents in the last 3 years as this obviuosly would save me alot of money.

i have to take my test again because of something not relating to my ban.

Nope. They're all the same.

What was the ban for as that will affect your premium accordingly.

Drunk driving. More than 1.5 times the limit or around there.

DR10: Driving or attempting to drive with alcohol level above limit..........

Brooky, you're going to get raped on insurance. IIRC they may even extend it to 10 years for DD. Better hope for a lottery win, or buy a Fiesta.

i got a quote for a 1998 vectra 1.8 GLS third party and it was 1124, a 1.6 astra was 984.

So its looking like 1000 average, its 5 years for any driving ban, i just thought there might be a site that did 3 years instead of 5

Don't be tempted to lie either, in the event of an accident you will not be covered. You are fucked from renting a car for 10 years also.

Thats actually not too bad then, I thought it would be much more than that. You must live in a non-pikey area and drive for personal use only :)

Try the following:

PEART associates
Adrian Flux insurance

Google will find them, they've both beaten every other quote I've had by over £100 (cheapest is £600 from those two, all the mainstream lot come in at minimum £700).
