If you were offered a free voucher for the instrument of your choice and lessons what would you choose?

I'd have to go for a banjo, theyre so cool and also my hands are too small for guitar playing.

i think i may buy one tbh, would hate to be on me death bed (preferably with some flexible young semi naked people tending to me) and think "man i wish i'd done that!" when its such an easy thing to do its not something thats unobtainable.

Already did my first instrument of choice which would be the flute, I've played recorders, tried acoustic guitar, keyboard, piano...

I'd take a piano and piano lessons again though. Wish I'd learned it better but wasn't so interested at the time ^^

I'm not musically minded(in terms of playing music, I love listening to it), just about the only instrument I've played was the violin in school, but that was more because I fancied some girl who was in that music club at the time, not because I wanted to learn to play any instrument :)

So I'm not entirely sure which instrument I would pick, however my brother seems to have pikey'd the musical genes from both my perants as he plays the drums in a band, as well as the piano, violin, guitar and saxophone in his spare time.

I guess I prefer the piano or drums the most, they seem to be the more pleasing to hear while he's practicing.

Have played piano for 25 years. Can also play clarinet and bass clarinet at orchestra levels.

If I were to pick another instrument it would be the harp.

I like to play the pc, its kind of an instrument, you get all these weird beep error noises and it kinda sounds like a tune.

acoustic guitar or violin
btw all good guitarists start on acoustic, were you learn the basics easiest, i.e finger picking etc, then you move up^^

always wanted to play violin, but obviously couldnt just buy one and pick it up:p

Well I play the trumpet, so either a really nice new trumpet (it would have to be to beat my current baby)!
Or, a choice between a piccolo trumpet or a flugelhorn.

The pic trumpet for playing all the high fanfares without fucking my lips up by pressing too hard on my current trumpet.
The flugelhorn because it has such a beautiful mellow sound, more mellow buttery sound than my trumpet, which would make solo playing fantasic.

I dont see any reason why you need to learn basics on acoustic?

Iam playing electric guitar and want to be as fast as M. Angelo / J. Petrucci:)

Still a loooong way to go, practicing chords, scales and picking in spare time.

I would love something like a Bass Chainsaw - Great for banging out fat tunes, but if you ever get bored of playing it you can use it to hack people up instead.. Can't even think how you could have more fun with ya clothes on tbh!

I'd take a free voucher for a huge church organ.

Then i'd sell it, buy a nice electric guitar, get the free lessons for the guitarr, and spend the leftover cash on... umm... stuff! :drink:

Think a trumpet, but like, unwound a bit.
Its tubes are slightly longer, so its a bit lower, but its sound is beautiful so mellow, soft and just... nice :D
