Installing Windows Themes

Hi

How Do I install new windows themes? Also where do you get them, webbys?

I am running Windows XP Pro

Either StyleXP or you'll need the uxthme.dll patch.

You need a "hacked" uxthemes.dll file to allow XP to display unsigned themes. Basically, Microsoft put a security control on it to prevent you from using third party themes.
Check this Neowin thread for information of the hacked DLL "patch".

With this applied, you can then search places such as "ThemeXP" and so forth. These go in the Windows\Resources\Themes Directory. It'll be hidden by default, so just type it into the address bar. Once they're in there, you should find that they just appear in the drop down menus of the Display Properties.
