Initial Barton Prices

It seems that dabs.com now have the 2600+, 2800+ and 3000+ listed in the AMD section:

The 3000+ part is way too expensive at just over £500 and is about £200 more than the 2800+ part, even though it only has a 200+ performance rating advantage.

That said, it really doesn't blow the competition away. The FiringSquad's review, like many others, just demonstrates that the 3000+ can keep with a P4 3.06Ghz, leading where AMD has always led, and lagging behind where the P4 has always been king. And that's not taking into account future applications written with SSE2 and/or hyper-threading in mind. I guess the hard times for AMD continue

If the 3000+ was £400 it would still be fairly good value, but at £500 it doesn't stand a chance.
