Init Strings?

Should be the same - if u haven't flashed to V.90 replace the 12 with 56

don't suppose you can explain what it all means??

just interested that's all - i know one of them is to turn off tracing...

also - should i leave my fifo buffers as they are? (i've been told to put them to lowest).

just trying to get the smoothest, most reliable connection outta the modem (as long as the ping stays ~180)

Can't remember what it all means

just that it slows down the modem and stops retraining

As for fifo buffers, I leave them alone, tried putting them up to max levels and I got packet loss now and again, though I had a different isp back then (makes lots of difference). My biggest tip for getting a smooth game (next to getting a good isp) would be to make sure no-one contacts your number when you play (get a new line?), or that no-one pickes the phone up when ur online - that really f*cks u up, I should know
