Now, a new company, Vivox, is readying an in-game voice service that may help draw players into games and keep them engaged, rather than serving as an open door to other worlds.

For Eve Online, Vivox is integrating voice directly into the game's interface, for rollout this fall.

Perhaps an idea for Mythic to implement this in Warhammer, and perhaps also in Camelot if it's compatible with this engine...

Never understood why Mythic didn't make a deal with Ventrilo or Teamspeak to have some compatibility.

Well, there was the poll not so long since asking if people used it or was it asking if we wanted it adding in game?

well considering warhammer is being made for xbox360 as well as the pc I dont see that they have any other way of allowing people to talk... unless microsoft announces a keyboard for the console.

Something else for people to whine about, lets add it to the list including XML, databases, bug abuse...

Its probably never been put into an MMO before because if it goes wrong, they have to fix it, whereas atm, why bother when we pay / leech our own.

Would be good, but securing it against enemies, wankers and chavs with big gobs (yes you denarius!) will not be fun for anyone. Private server4tehwin! Anyone who plays CS with voicecomms will know where im coming from!

Thought Guild Wars did too? It also has a nifty ability to draw on the in game map to show tactics etc.

Yup, although hardly anyone uses it from what ive read, because its like I said, full of screeming tossers.

AFAIK GW doesnt yet, but the radar type thing is a great idea, but in DAoC its a bad one, as sooner or later someone would figure out how to hack it, whereas in GW in 8V8 PvP, it doesnt make any difference.

Erm where do you get your facts from?? WAR will only be released on the PC. A demo was made on the 360 just to show basic portability of the libraries but there is no plan to release it on 360 whatsoever...

Q: Will there be a Mac/other platform version?

A: I never say never - but we will only launch WAR on the PC.

Not quite true...

Upon being asked on the possibility of an upcoming console launch, Mythic Entertainment admitted to considering the fact of an Xbox 360 and PS3 launch.

Wonder if the servers will go cross platform - be a nice idea imo to keep it going - as long as they don't dumb it down like they did to many bits of Oblivion
