The "module" (got to love the use of p&p terms) will be called Dragon's Vault and will feature 15 new dungeons for different levels as well as a raid (two groups in DDO) where you get to face a red dragon. No level increase yet it seems, but at least it will offer more variety and also some "endgame" goal for those that are maxed out at that point. Personaly i hope we will also see alot of bug fixes in between this update and now as well - there was a bugfix patch run on the US servers today, we will get it on EU servers alil later when they have tested for localization (probably next week).
There was some conroversy around the statment that it would be free of charge as a thank you to the fans, as many interpreted this as saying the following content upgrades would cost extra. This was refuted by a CM (Sporkfire) later in the day with this:
"That line was simply to clarify that this is not a paid update, not to point to the future. There will be future content updates that are also free. Business being what it is, there may be initiatives in the future where we develop content as a paid add-on and, of course, there will be expansions. But you should not expect to pay for every content update."
So guess we have to give Turbine the benefit of the doubt here. As long as most of the content updates are "free" (not counting the monthtly cost) i think people will keep enjoying the game. If they start charging for minor updates on top the the monthly fee i think they will have shot themselves in the leg.
