I moved from Mid to Alb and started an inf. I'm at a loss of a good spec though. People have told me that crit-filtrators are gimps, but that DW blows nuts and I shouldn't use it.

Which brings me to another question: How does Dual Wield even work?! People started talking to me about percentages of swings and whether both hit or not and I went muttled.

So, there is a chance that in a critstrike that both main and offhand will hit? Or what is it then?

my spec at 24 was
18 +5 stealth
21 CS
23 +2 envenom
10 +4 thrust

and i can solo yellow con mobs eaily
can solo orange with difficulty

in thid could kill anything the only thing i avoided were berzerkers and skalds

I went the other way round. from Alb to Mid.
just leave DW alone it blows

I tried a high DW specced Infil, was a total gimp.

As an Infiltrator go Crit and Envenom in the Bg's,
and put on some good running shoes

So basically - in thid - infs suck so bad because they are all crit but can only use 1handed weps?

No, Infs arent crap in Thid, it's just that theres too many of them

My infs current spec is

19+5 Stealth
20 Envenom
21 CS
13 Thrust
3 DW

I find I do ok with this, due to low base damage (Thrust) I do find the damage variance is a bit all over the shop, but I can kill just about anything IF i get my PA off, about the only thing I might struggle with would be a Spearo, due to his mooselike ability

It's true that the majority of the Infs better stuff comes at higher lvls, but if you are just speccing for thid, then the above, or something similar should be ok. The one thing I would say is, make sure you have stealth at 24, since most if not all Assassin classes will have this, and will spot you earlier than you spot them, if your stealth is lower than theirs.

Gimme a shout in game if you want/need any advice/help about Infs, I've played 2 so far and find them good fun

if you are making an inf purly for thid then make him slash

Gerrards spec at 24 is
17(+5) slash
21 crit
15 env
20(+5) stealth
5(+5) DW

he exps well soloing blues without styles and yellows well with styles(keltoi mobs that is)

The reason why people are talking about DW infs is because of a Very good inf template-
50 DW
50 Thrust
21 CS
30ish stealth
30ish Env

not sure about bottom
This template at 50 is like a Shadowzerker.....with dragonfang..

But what Bubble doesn't tell you is, she aer teh gimp inf (j/k)

And personally, I don't think the merc template is that good til you can make up the RRs a bit, as that template stands on its own, you'll struggle even with the increase in dual hits, and I also think missing out the PA chain could cause problems. But, once you've got a high enough RR (about RR4-5 I'd say) and you've filled in a few blanks (duellers reflexes immediately springs to mind) then I think the merc template could be quite fun to play.

Yeh, Dragonfang is a nice style, but I doubt you'll see a nerf on it, since the thrust styles are accessible by every melee orientated class in albion, ok not all those classes evade, but a Merc does and a 50 thrust Merc would be a death machine.
