Infil Spec

What with the DF nerf and all, I think now would be a great time to make an assasin (I like a challenge!). I know this has been done to death on vnboards and other places, but I'm still unsure what is THE spec for my Infil.

This is my best effort so far (needs autotrained Stealth to 48)

Thrust 50
CS 39
Envenon 36
Stealth 35
DW 29

This gives access to Greater Enervating Poision at RR1 and Lifebane at RR4 (I think). Should also give decent offhand damage and chance-to-hit.

Should I sacrifice some DW and/or Envenom to get CS up to 44 for Rib Seperation?

If I go this spec, I'll be using a Saracen. How should I spend my initial points?

After the DF nerf, is it worth playing a Briton and going Slash?

Never liked the 'Mercfil' spec...

How about a Briton inf with this;

DW 50 - Dual Shadows
CS 39 - PA->CD->SS
Slash 39 - Amy Slash + Backslash
Stealth 35
Envenom 24

Weaponskill too low? I imagine with this spec I could get melee'd to death by a 35th Valewalker...

Looks fine, plenty of styles to choose from you'll annoy casters a lot, rib sep is fine for pve but with 5 secs df you might as well stick with 39cs.

I tried 50dw and the dmg output was great, could take any agro off a twisting pally or rip an SB to shreds, but OMFG it was boring, could wrap up everything I needed on 1.3 QB's, was so boring I stopped playing her for 4-5 months.

I resepeced after I got a stone off the dragon a few weeks back, gone to a 50t/39cs/34s/34e/dw-rest much more fun to play and cant say I've noticed much of a nerf tbh, even with 1560 odd ws I rarely landed DF to win a fight.

I'm not TOA'd up yet and not sure I'll bother after getting my wizard 5-6 lvl10 artis.

Above all else its more fun to play her so maybe the TOA thing will change.

kinda simular to most sb, but with better DW/LA spec.

General fights go like this:

PA/ they try to run
CD/ they get stunned
move in front and DS
-style them to death if they lived, no matter what the case DS is usually a death sentence

Imo your spec looks fine.

As for the starting points distribution I would go 10Str/10Dex/10Con.
No matter what race you choose.
There is still a 250 Point softcap on Qui, so I see no point whatsoever in placing points in this, as that cap is easily reached without +10 from start.

I prefer the idea of an "assasin" as opposed to a stealthing tank. That said, I can see how useful/overpowered DS is on a stealther

just imo, cs infil is nicer but u need a good conection and low lag computer otherwise landing pa is quite hard. thats why i changed to mercfil, now i reroll myself into an infil in pvp and with 1k ram new on my computer its lovely not having lag and being able to pa properly i even manage to pa casters while they are on the horse.

Not everyone goes for add4tw in Emain, but rather enjoys various other aspects of the game instead. Crit >>>>>>>>>>> mercfil in keep sieges, for example.

You also say that CS (PA) is pointless, due to enerv lowering the %MaxHP - however, there's a str (weaponskill) debuff that goes along with it, would hardly call that useless.

Optimal for farming alot of rps? Very likely not...
Unable to kill others at your level? Also very unlikely.

Don't think they are claiming enevating poison to be useless but PA... As mercfil you can still get the lvl 47 poison and and debuff the same amount of WS where as high PA dmg will 'override' the effect og the poison as described in this thread: https://forums.freddyshouse.com/showthread.php?t=29108

shrye is anything wrong with myrmidions ? all have to start from zero you know. rvr 4 day's. i personaly would not say that a rr 3 char is gimp just cuz of the rr.

fine crit is ok for keep siege, and caster. still dw is a better overall imo. when you see the effect of a pa and debuff together.

hm with NF coming I think most fights are in/at keeps so 'best' specc would be CS ...

I'm happy with 50 Slash 44 CS 35 stealth/envenom rest DW as a Briton. Think I put most of my starter points in Str and a small amount in con and at rr3 I have about 2k hp and 1480 wepskill (when uber buffed) which is more than my rr5 sb on Mid/Pry :worthy:
