Incorrect term?

When two planes fly close to each other and almost crash, this is called a 'near miss'.
Surely if the two planes nearly missed each other this means they actually did collide.

Discuss..




(oh and please add any other strange and possibly incorrect terms for us to talk about)

It's still applicable i suppose ,go in and buy a cd/dvd/tape then take it home and record it ,then take it back for a refund.

how do you work that out? if i throw an apple at you and it misses you by .1mm , then its near and it missed, near miss.

Oh please, when they nearly collide it's a near hit.

When they hit you can say

" Ahhhh they nearly missed!"
