Hello lovely FH'ers...
Just thought I would let you all know that Vae has proved his virility and manliiness in a stupendous way. We are expecting our first baby at the end of Feb and its a little boy!
We're both v happy, though i tend to vascillate between that and abject terror too!
Pregnancy so far has not been fun for me, and I have been unable to work since 19th oct due to a painful conditiion called PGP...which hurts like hell and has me using crutches whenever I leave the house....though other than that I'm fine and baby appears to be in very good health too! So...yeah, there you go :)

Huge congratulations guys and you have my utter sympathy at having PGP. I didn't have that, I had extreme morning sickness and ended up in hospital on a drip at 17 weeks with acute pancretitus. Hope you can manage the PGP okay and that it doesn't get any worse.

Thanks Cadiva. It was getting gradually worse until I started seeing an osteopath....since I have been seeing her once a week, she appears to have managed 'damage limitation' and whilst its certainly no better, I'm not yet wheelchair bound and can still perform my daily activities of living without help, so lets be thankful for small mercies! It seems a lot of people are coming out of the woodwork with awful pregnancies....all the women in my family claim to have 'never felt better' whilst pregnant!

My missus has thrown up almost every day, usually several times, on both pregnancies (we worked out she'll have thrown up 1000 times by the time no.2 arrives), and her back's been wrecked (she had a six-injection nerve block done last week to no avail). I thank the non-existent baby jeebus every day that I was born a man.

It's the most hideous thing in the world, I had all day morning sickness and it never went away, I actually lost a stone-and-a-half while I was pregnant. Hope the birth goes okay and your wife's able to get some treatment for her back once the baby arrives. On the sickness front, probably preaching to the choir, but has she tried a pressure band like the ones they have for sea sickness which applies pressure to the inner wrist? That and flat Jamaican Ginger Beer and ginger/lemon tea were about the only things I could stomach.

Because there is simply nothing like that feeling when you see your child for the first time :) Impossible to describe but incredible to experience.

Tried every solution known to doctors, old wives and internetz. Flat 7Up helps and bizarrely, McDonalds McFlurries (I can't tell you the number of post-hurl runs to MaccyD's I've done, which is unusual, as normally for most people the vomiting takes place after a visit to McDonalds). A specialist is booked into see her about her back the day after the baby is due, but of course because its a section (because of her back) it will be up to six weeks before she can do any exercise or physio.

We do it again because it is worth it :)
Think of it as the crapper the pregnancy, the better you cope with your new little one -as all those symptoms should go once the sprog pops out!

That sucks big time and with another little one and a C-sec to recover from she's going to be all over the place. Send her my best and hope that she can recover quickly after the C-sec and get some decent physio for her back.

nope...the best relief I have found is weekly osteopathy...which is truly worth every single penny of the £44 a week it costs me. Physio did fuck all, paracetamol does nothing as well. Ice packs help, but icing your groin is really quite uncomfortable in other ways. Warm baths help but getting in and out of the bath make it 10 times worse so don't do that anymore. Osteopath also gave me some stuff called Biofreeze which is a topical roll on that has a cold effect but also has some bush remedy in it called Ilex which seems to help too.

Syd....you're disgusting :p
