I have seen alot of people write this: Midguard.

It is VERY wrong. it is spelled Midgard from the swedish word Midgård(i do not know if you can see the letter that is after "g" and before "r". it is a "a" with a "circle" over it)

now you know that didn't know

aaaa :m00:

Midgard is what it's called. No Midgård or anything. Gård means farm. Mid means middle, but this is an old language and gård is not how it's written in that language, it's gard.
Midgard simply means the Human realm, the realm in the middle, the garden in the middle, "middle paddock", the world as we know it etc. Asgard means the realm of the Aeses, that's the Gods realm(æser <- norse gods spelt in norwegian)

Some more common, but irritatingly persistent :) mistakes :

Firebolg - Firbolg
Kobald - Kobold
Minstral - Minstrel

Some people even have these in their signatures :)

well if you learn how to read you see that i was pointing out that midguard is very wrong and midgard is the way to write. and i do not belive you are so right about your post, BUT, i must look into it some more...

well, i think it is strange that the norwegian spelling differs so much, you say "Asgard means the realm of the Aeses". It is more like "Asgard is the home of the Ass(single god, male) and Asynja(single god, female)(this is highy difficult to get right.)". Now look at the word, Asgard. a viking god is a as. and this is the home of the viking gods. gard/gård. that would mean the norwegian spelling is inaccurate. it would have been æsgard/Aesgard.

well as i said i will look into this more, i my be total of track, but i do not need anyone to tell me that :D

I've never ever encountered anyone that _needed_ to be told they were wrong from their own perspective :D

I don't wear make-up; I stab people in the back grrrrr

Its all minor compared to the idiots who go round typing "rouges" instead of rogues ;) I had to endure that for 3 years in EQ - thankfully it only lasts 5 levels in 1 realm in DAoC :D
