Ok so with all the technology advances going on with multimedia systems - 4d surround sound, micro thin extremely high resolution monitors games are forever getting more realistic.
However I've come to notice that one sense is being ignored currently and this is possibly due to technological restraints of today - smell.

So I'd like for everyone to use either:-
(a) their imagination
or
(b) their roleplaying skills (similar to 'a' I know)

And decide what realm you think would smell the worst of Hibernia, Midgard and Albion, and maybe even certain individuals that you think probably honk to high hell.
Who makes you go like this? :eek6: :uhoh: :puke:

Thankyou for your co-operation..

Please note from now on no posts are to be taken seriously, personally or used as flames.

:p

I don't doubt for a second that some areas of Avalon Marsh would reek. And the Pygmy house in Lyonesse - so many of them, in such a small area... <shudders>

Camelot would be the worst.

The amount of shit that flows through the streets of a Medieval city is quite amazing.

Obviously Hibernia would smell the nicest as it is one big garden :p

From now on, everytime I go into the Guild of Shadows I'll spray some rose scented air freshener in the air to give me that "pink" aroma of our leather clad heroes :D

Hmmm, being from wonderfully dark and grey Midgard, I would say that the bright and flower haunted Hibernia would both smell and look so horrible that my Thane usually has to barf every time he ports to Emain. It's so horrible, gives me nightmares actually... :/ Those flowerloving elves and firbolgs even has trees for pets. Give me a drakulv and I'll teach him heel and roll over any day. He will even smell better after a few days of training fetch the thulian in Spindelhalla.

;)

Come to think of it, Muspelheim would reek of sulphur...
Vanern would stink bad, as would Jordheim.
The rest of Midgard is fresh and clean compared to Albion, a too cultivated land.
Nothing beats the garden - Hibernia in rosy smells though... :)

Undead Camp - lets face it - you got the biggest refrigerator on all three realms, i.e. the Midgard frontier, not quite managing keep edible and fresh all those zombies, shivering prescences and generally mobile corpses.

Do NOT buy a kebab from these guys, for once you actually know what's in it: their buddies.

Mithra's tomb, with its rows of graves, undeads, narrow corridors and hordes of people would smell dreadful, i reckon.

Hmm come to think of it, none of the dungeons would be all that savoury would they?

But the very worst place I think, would have to be Castle Sauvage portal pad on a hot Saturday evening in July. So many bodies crushed together in heavy armour, already hot and bloodied from several battles.

Phheeeeww!!

We surely are brave to even get on the pad there ;)

You know, some people read these forums to try and keep in touch with what is happening in the game.

To us, these stupid, pointless and childish threads are such a waste of time.

Please spare us ! At least put a title that is actually relevant to the content so we can skip it if we don't feel concerned by it !

Agreed, think of the manure that goes to keeping Hibernia so green. Hibernia wins this poll, hands down.

Trigali, you wasted much more time posting on this thread than if you had just read the first post and moved on.

I too read the forums to keep up to date, but I also read them for fun and for the occassional bit of light relief.

As fas as I'm concerned, if its to do with DAoC its perfectly valid, and this particular thread allows us to explore more fully with our imaginations than the game itself allows.

Ok, maybe the title is a little over-the-top, but nowhere near as irrelevant to the actual topic as the "Midgard under Attack" threads.

And anyway, while you were posting why didnt you tell us what you thought was the smelliest place in DaoC? Seeing as you took the time to post.......... :)

Oh, OK then.

The WW dungeon in Varulvham has got to have powerful stench to it, not unlike a dirty dog on a wet day, to the power of 10 :D

See, Trigali, doesn't that feel much better now?

Gombur, Jupitus, when wild, is a sight to behold for any maiden :)

And Caelithar, I'm sure you have all of Albion's deepest sympathy. It must be dreadful to be anywhere near a troll's bottom at any time.
