Swords and laser pistol, sounds fun to me. Will depend on the RvR side whether its worth a try. Won't dismiss it just yet.

Was eagerly awaiting WoW for years and tbh it just isn't for me.

Havent Mythic stated that Impetor was designed on the PvE aspects?

Imperator -- a non-PvP-based MMORPG that's basically about futuristic Romans fighting Mayan robots, in space.

Sounds good, a game that isn't competing directly with Camelot.

Can't fault that, I want to stay here <grin>

it'll be a niche market rather than going for the rather saturated fantasy mmorpg market.

Its been in development for as long as I can remember, for all those WoWites, its the same basis for PvP, whereby it has arenas for combat, like the WoW battlegrounds.

Yes it is PvE again Im afraid, shame because they could have taken the decent elements of DAoC PVP and put them right.

Wouldn't have thought they'd have split their team running DAoC to sort out a new game to be honest, more like get new staff and so on, its called a company expanding.

ToA & Catacombs is a matter of opinion, some liked ToA, and alot seem to like Catacombs apparently.

I believe Mythic stated that they didnt move anyone from DAOC to Impetor.

soo how u explain toa and catacombs ? SI get diferent zone 4 all realms
toa and catacombs get same zone ( yes are biger that si ) just "copy&paste" and change some item stats
teoretic toa take 66% less time too make that si ( if wee say 33% 4 each realm) and come after 1 year just come on mythic dont "work" on daoc anymore

Theoretical it takes less time yes. But you cant judge an expansion on that. You most look at the content not the fact its the same for all 3 realms.

Basicly SI is the same too. It just has different gfx (I am aware that this isnt a easy task) and names.

Trials of Atlantis on the otherhand is a HUGE places. ToA doesnt alone has a larger area than SI. It also contains alot more content in quests, masterlevels, encounters and so on. Therefore I would think they spend around the same time creating ToA than they used on SI.

I think they spend around same amount of time to create TOA than they did to greate 3 SI zones.

Also keep in mind that ToA is a very powerful expansion. It would be very hard for them to balance the 3 realms if they had to have different artifacts and so on. Yet they still managed not to balance it totally (Healers getting GoV tank version QQ)

Just my thoughts

Yeah, sure. You are an idiot. What do you know of Catacombs anyway, the expansion most US players seem to love? Next!

SI - 5 zones per realm, 3 dungeons, 2 classes
(15 zones, 9 dungeons, 6 classes)

ToA - 13 unique zones (10 tailored slightly for each realm), completely new item system (artifacts), entirely new spell system (master levels) effectively 8 new spell lines, 6 new dungeons

Catacombs - 9 new zones per realm (7 share textures etc. but are different zones), 16 new dungeons in the new zones, 8 new dungeons in the old zones, instanced adventuring, dungeon task system, 5 new classes in total.

Yeah they're just not trying.

I think it's 14 zones in TOA (11 tailored), and you forgot the new races <grin>
