I'm sick of bleedin' idiots - the new breed of CS Players?

I love CS, it's the best game I've ever played, but I just can't bring myself to play it anymore. I'm sick of bleedin' idiots that have (it seems to me) flooded every server and are ruining the game.

I'm not talking about Noobs or campers or any of the other gripes that have been slagged to death in the BW forum - that's all part of the game - I'm talking about the attitude and the spirit with which people are playing.

You used to get the odd cocky little brat with the ego slagging everyone off and refusing to risk his arse to defuse/plant the bomb prefering to protect his frags/deaths score - but of late it seems that the servers are over-run with them (and I play on BW, Wireplay, NGUK, UK2NET).

Even the clan matches I've been involved in of recent times have disappointed me.

Am I going mad? Is my loss of CS appetite a sign of depression or has there been a change in the general CS playing public?

I think that CS is just becoming more and more popular and there are now a wider range of people playing the game, so you are bound to get more people like that.

People also have to understand the fact that CS requeires team work to win a round. Without it you WILL loose the round. This means weather you want to or not defusing etc.

I agree with you 100% m8... I reached that point about 2 weeks ago, but it's been building up for quite some time... May I suggest you try some AHL ?? The peeps playing that are doing so in the right manner - ie. playing for fun

Lol this started around 5.2, soon as 6.5 came out it got much worse, last time i played v1.0 the game was overun with it Ill say it again, until you ditch the personal frags, teamplay in general, just won't happen like it should. Even though i spend most of my time hanging on to the top spots on frag lists, eg in tribes atm im never under 30 kills, and as many team points. I actually favour the personal frags being removed, even though like i say, i top virtually every frag list in whatever game i play. I do belive though, if this were to happen, team play games MIGHT become less popular When i play Tribes, you only have to go anywhere near the nme base, and nearly half the nme team will chase you, trying to get the frag they quickly desert there so called defending duties Iv'e used this many times as a tactic, to help my team get a easy win. In all this kinda reminds me of whats going on on a lot of message boards i visit these days, there removing the post numbers, and just replacing them with member status Kinda rox imho, but you wana see the people(cough)spammers moan

yeah, true... that's one of the things i like about AHL... you don't see frags 'till the map's over As for the teamwork thing... some of the clan-matches our clan has been playing lately have been against complete retards but they still play as a team... Birds of a feather ??

AHL is full of TKers - but the nice thing is that u can kick them after 3 frags

AHL is great I have been playing that more than CS...... I just cam off a server a minute ago cause some little prick was moaning @ me cause I was meant to fight 3 ppl on my 0own to protect him................

Unfortunately, the immaturity of the people who play CS is the one thing they bring to the servers they play on.

No skills.
No new insight to playing the game.
Not even a hello when they connect.

Just their staggering immaturity.

The reason they are immature is probably because they are.

Most wont tell you their age, but its not unusual for a server to have players who are 11, 12, 13 years of age etc.

These kids are used to getting what they want and they will shout abuse until they get it and if they dont, they will just act lame.

The best thing you can do is ignore them, or just silently change server.

yes there are some very annoying people ... but usually on most servers you can find mostly decent folk and usually if someones acting like a jerk it makes the others chat more and act more like a team ... usually if someone refuses to play in a team and hides back hes not always that good and usually is pretty predictable so its not hard to kill said person ... i do like having the personel frags although i never try to hard to get frags it can be fun having personel duals between the two top players on a team while still playing as a team ... i know other people dont play it this way counting there precious frags rushing to kill afks and moaning if you "steal there frag" when your just trying to stop them from dying ... if people moan like this just say its a team game and if they want death match go play Q3 ... being non abusive is better with these sorts of people they are probaley only about 13 so dont be bullys


just stick with the players that will chat and work as a team you can still find decent people and enjoy playing CS as a team game

Well basically its the same in any game u play these days. All that you can do is ignore it or move on.

Me personally? I have taken up playing on my old clans server (counter-strike), its always admined and TK is ON but we get a good friendly bunch and generally have fun. I still go and play on BW servers, but only when i see someone I know on them. Least that way I can have someone to talk nicely to.

I think people play for themselves if there is not an obvious leader/decision maker in the team. Sometimes when I join, I have to sit back and watch as 9 people all rush off in different directions and get systematically slaughtered by the opposing team - who generally have their act together. Until someone makes team suggestions, and then a few guys will respond. Which makes for such a better game.

I'm a fairly new online player and enjoy team games so much better.

Ive only been playing CS a few months. Im not very good at it, but I have found that if (like all the posts have suggested) you play as a team, then things are soooo much easier than by yourself. Problem is my mature 30yr old head tells me that most of the immature young players dont realise that a bit of sacrifice by one or two TEAM players is better for the TEAM.

You dont have to be the last man standing everytime.

Still don't get it, why does everybody keep talking team, and about how if... ect there little more than words on public servers. Only a few things ever stoped me from just rushing through the nme and wasting them, completly changing the balance of the game when i felt like it. One: luck two:somebody as good as me three: im knackerd and playing crap It was all too easy to do this when i was playing the game 5 nights a week, and was born to online gaming with a Dm background.

i think you missed the point of the post kurt_angle ... we werent talking about how to win more rounds but whats the best way to enjoy playing CS on the whole talking to people using teamwork is much more fun then playing it as a DM game (why arent you playing Q3)

i dont always stick together with my team mates but i still play as a team using enemy spotted commands and saying which bomb sites are clear using radar and helping out team mates in trouble ... sticking around in abig group isnt always the best thing to do but team work makes the game more enjoyable weather you move around alone or with team mates


im a fairly good CS player im obviously not as good as kurt_angle because he must be god if he boasts like that on here ... but i think just because your good at CS you shouldnt stop using team work

Give it up dib, i couldn't care less about cs anymore, all im doing is spelling the facts out to you, after i got bored of reading the same shit over and over. radar this Team work that. IN TRUTH it's crap m8, ON A PUBLIC SERVER, note the word 'public' plz. Iv'e never found any of this team work lark of any use. In quake 2 cft, i could just do a 1 man army, and nabb, same in tribes 2, tfc, cs, need i go on, me thinks you get the picture, well if not i realy couldn't give a rats ass anyway Team play is only ever prefected in clan wars m8, i know because i used to spend 4 nights a week doing it BTW when in gods name did i say i was a god???????. I didn't Like i said on the first line, All im saying is the truth, a good/very good player will totally unblance ANY public server game, and the rest just follow, any of this bs teamworking crap your reading from the manual goes out of the window.
