Roo - we've been playtesting all 3 empires. Currently my fave is TR but its up to the rest of the llama...er...organized troops that I'm playing with which we play in release.

IMO Planetside isn't anywhere near DAoC on the content side but it has potential to be an amazing FPS. I might keep playing both if I have the money and get a new computer (need it for PS).

There's no point comparing the two at all, its like comparing Zelda to CS. We're from a FPS background (tribes specifically) so this is the next step up for us.

The best thing is its not a timesink like an MMORPG. Mind you, there's already a load of EQ players trying to get NPC's, quests and ph4t l3wt added on the beta forums lol. No thanks.

Content will be added, but its NOT a rp game. It's fun though, that's all I'm bothered about.

I'm playing the PS beta myself.
For those of you who would like to know the release date (those who don't care, look away...now)..

It's 23rd May 2003. Order now!

Gameplay.com have it for pre-ordering.

I will be saying Bye-bye to DAOC too. Too much of my life have I wasted on it, PS will be better since you can just dip in and out without feeling like you are missing anything.

Actually I haven't played DAOC since I've been beta'ing....and I feel fine!
