i know this is a little ot but i thought i'd share a conversation i had yesterday.


heres the story behind it.

i have a race rep motorbike.fucking well smart anyway i need a new chain and sprockets for it so i rang up carnells(motorcycle city)to price them up anyway the chain and sprocket set comes to 75 quid,which is not bad then the biff there says if you want it fitting it will take an hour.how much i says and he tells me they charge wait for it.
50 FUCKING POUND AN HOUR.cough ill do it me fucking self thanks.

I charge £40 an hour to do the same job, but the standard price for o ring chain and sprockets with us is £120...

rocket aprilia centre will do it for 95 quid

probably get a cheap shitty chain for this.


had a look at my sprockets yesterday and the chain has worn the teeth hooklike lol.i went to rossendale bike show on sun throddy.largest in the country,i was like a kid in a toy shop 40,000 peeps never seen so many bikes.

Im hired out on contract work (used to be anyay) at nigh on 100 smackers an hour+travel+expenses.

Unfortunatley, I used to get about 1/2 a % of that.

I charge about £280 per day for camerawork, and about £220 a day for sound, plus all expenses, and hotels paid for.



Anyway, my local Audi garage charges £55 an hour labour, so £50 sounds about right. At least if something goes wrong with the work on your bike, you'll be able to sue them for new elbows and knuckles......
