Considering it's Open Beta and the false start to it too. I have to say I'm very impressed by the solid and complete feel to the game.

Sure there are a few minor bugs. But nothing to stop the fun of playing.
I played WoW OB, and good though that was, it just didn't have all the stuff that Mythic have managed to cram into WAR.

I have very high hopes for the future of this game.

I got about 2 hours this morning before work (i actually phoned in to say i had a doctors appointment and was going to be late, haha!).

The graphics are, er.... well dissapointing, but i'm told their set low for beta and secondly graphics are only important for about 20 minutes, you soon get bored of them.

The game play is slightly slower than wow, everything doesn't tie together as nicely, not as smooth i think the appropriate word is.

Regardless of these two issues, which i do hope they resolve, the game was quite fun. I found myself constantly finding stuff and going 'oh thats nice!', loved the PQ and at no point was i like 'Ok wtf i do now?'.

8/10 so far, and i haven't even tried rvr yet.

have to say im really impressed as well... loving the RVR both open and scenarios. And i always have pvp in games...

PQ's are good fun if you have an organized group and the solo quests aint bad either.

the best thing tho is i havnt had to grind at all so far as there is always another way to get xp

The game does indeed rock.

Heh on the graphics front - had it running at lunch time here and all my colleagues were going "ooh nice graphics".

This is running on my powermac (bootcamped to vista) on full settings but I've not tweaked any anisotropic filtering or any of that lark.

yea the game is good, there is a bug though.

i won a public quest earlyer :) choose a reward from the bag and didnt recieve it, i think it was because i picked the epic reward and i didnt have the reknown to have it?.
if thats the case it shouldnt have let me pick it, i couldnt see the stats on any of the items if i hovered my cursor over them either which i thought was odd.

About the graphics. There doesn't seem to be any AA or AF in the game at present. So I went into Nvidia control panel and forced AA and AF on. The difference was very noticeable. Much smoother and a big improvement even on x4AA and x8AF. I'd give it a try and see what you think.

There will be a way to do all this in game pretty soon I would think.

really enjoying it so far. the mix of instanced and open-world rvr is great, the public quest system is great. only thing i don't like much is the ui, but that will soon be modded i'm sure.

The thing is, you can already mod those by going into "Customize UI" under options :)

thanx to joor and his instruction, i am able to enjoy the graphics.
characters are very nice, but the environment is even better

i started getting the feeling of the game after the very first quests
altho still the logistics of damage dealing are quite new, battle seems enjoyable

right from the 1st scenario i joined playing a melee class solo, i never felt i was a canon fodder.
archetypes seem to be balanced

public quests are nice, cause even if you don't get a bag, you can still get a nice item from the npc for attenting the pq

there are some bugs with animations but not that important

quests and story lines are much better than any other online game atm

Yes - agree. Been playing most of today and well impressed so far. Also no lag etc so a plus to GOA for that - credit where its due.

I think its a good game, but I havent had that great or awesome game feeling yet, everything is just "okey", nothing spectacular. The scenarios feel a bit odd, this might be because everyone sucks and run around like headless chickens, but so far I dont like the part where solo meelers can just run up to 12 random people and survive....for long time. That and no caster interruptions are my biggest annoyances so far, but overall its a enjoyable game.

Animations, spell and sound effects (many spells dont even have sound) are really lacking big time though imo, and I hope they are working on this.
