Right.

For months I've been too lazy/busy to sort out my PC.

Right now I've got a dual boot of winxp/2k but not in the conventional sense. If I want to load up 2k, I have to pull the plug on the drive with xp on and load that way.

I have crap spread accross 2 os's and it's pissing me off. Both have had too much crap installed and uninstalled and so, my friends, it is time to fdisk and start again.

I've decided today is the day and to hell with Damini...well, until she reads this, then she'll hit me, but until then.....

*puts goggles on*

Wish me luck chaps....CHOCKS AWAY!!!

*starts to randomly back up stuff and hopes he remembers it all*

Been tempted to get Win 98 back on several times.

oops...heh...

well I got as far as clearing off one of my drives and then my sister and her husband came round so I had a bit of a break.

Now I'm on win2k and copying essential stuff over to the newly cleared/compressed drive that used to have winxp on it.

Exciting huh?

Watch this space....

Nope. It's just I've had 2k longer than xp and I've got loads of crap installed on it so it's the bigger job of clearing. Once it's cleared I'll fdisk and plonk xp on.

:)

My next job is to install XP on her computer. Her copy of WinME is bugged to hell right now.

She's getting fed up cos her pc keeps lockig up and running out of resources (when it has plenty) so I think XP is the only thing for it.

She's got a P3 1gig with 128 megs ram (soon to be 1 gig ram with any luck). She had all sorts of crap installed on her computer over time. It's just got to the stage now where her PC is clogged up.

It needs a spring clean like mine's just had. :)

I have teh winME!!1

Well, i actually deleted the partition the other day, with the intension of creating a smaller partition in its place, using dos fdisk off the windows CD, and reinstalling.

However, it's tempting to just not install it, and keep the space for when i reinstall Linux(Which is when i get some debian cds).

heh i was running XP up until last weekend when i finaly had enough, it was taking like 3 minutes to boot due to some unkown reason (tried everything) and it just generaly ran slow as fuck.

So format c:\

Now running Win98 / Win2K dual boot, much nicer tbh. I love win2k and have Win98 there just incase.

yoink!

less than 256mb is a waste of time fella - 512mb is a healthy amount to run XP on, 128mb will creak, grind and prolly result in damini force-feeding you the goldfish in a fit of rage and frustration

alternatively she might get out the drill and attempt DIY

be warned fella!
