beta: everything working dandy, good balance, no major bugs
beta done, cd's getting shipped: We'll just change this, this, this and *this*. No need to test. Everything worked in beta.
Game goes live: players "WTF is this?" Bugs, inbalances.
SOE: Oops. We'll have that fixed in a months time.

Atleast look at it this way: the yanks are beta testing ToA for the Euroes. We get the final end product. Bug free ish, translation errors do ofc occur.

Actually, although the beta testers got to play with nearly everything in ToA, if I remember correctly the Master Levels were not given to the beta testers to play with, Mythic kept it under close wraps to the very last minute.

My suspicion is because they had no idea first off how to balance the MLs and its becoming apparent that the quests to get them haven't been properly tested either.

Its been said on other threads by other people. Its the only upside of being several patches behind.

However, we get bugs like the Keep Door 2 bug instead

Just as I thought - ML's implemented without much prior thought or ideas for realm balacing - just a thought to get more money.

everything that is currently getting patched is still in the toa patch (1.66). So they are sort of live testing ToA atm and after they have fixed most of the immediate bugs and imbalances they will prolly use 1.67 to fix the less visible stuff and Im guessing we are gonna get both at the same time, but Im not sure about that. But atleast all the bugs we see now should be in the patch we get for sure.

Auch... sounds horrible. They will be in a lot of trouble with TOA, customers can't be treated that way.
