a few weeks ago starman asked u what we wanted changing
a great deal of us who have been on Barrysworld EF server
since it started were thrilled at the chance of having a change
of maps,and others like space being left out.
it now appears this was just a cynical way
to start this up.
i cant convey to you how cheesed off i am,
and in reply to that cocky answer i had,
my windows ME is fully uptodate im running
IE 6 all up to date,all was working 100%.
after i installed bother IE would crash on trying to start up and when i tried accessing my start panel in windows.
after removing the barrylogon and barry bar,i went into
repair IE6 from then the problems went.
currently i have a lot of data on my new map and as stated before im not in a hurry to have that happen again
for a service once you charge for i wont be using.
ive got to be honest some of the posts youve done here havent helped youre cause one
bit in fact the guys think Barrysworld have gone a bit lala.
its quite clear now youve gone on
a course of this,just cast youre minds back when BW was dead in the water and all the people that rallied for you.
i wish you guys luck cos at 9:20 pm
all but one (barrybookable) are being used.
oo and just for the record Wadada
knows more about this game than nearly anyone so please
dont lower yourselfs anyfuther than you have .

After deciphering that post I think there are a few points I can reply to:

Starman wasn't aware of the Tech Trial when he made a genuine effort to improve the maps and configs on the EF servers a few weeks ago, personally I think its a shame that people don't appear to want to use the resource, both servers and time thats available to the EF community at BW, but thats your collective decision as a community...

Thanks for the extra information regarding your problems with BarryBar, based on that information I suspect you have found the same bug a number of other people have located to do with the Bar not ignoring Windows Explorer on w98/ME and IE6. We have a fix for this and are testing it currently.

I can also assure you that the staff at BarrysWorld are not lala. We fully understand the commercial neccessity of what we are doing, and the consequences to the number of people playing on our servers. If you choose to continue playing games at BarrysWorld then we welcome you to a new era for us, if you choose to go elsewhere then we wish you luck also.

Is it not also true that if youlogon at the main barrysworld site that you can view the servers also?
I'm sure i did this the other day and it worked,if it does would this not be an easier option for those having problems with the logon system?

Hello thank you for the repies.
i do agree ME is utter cack i use it when making a map
as the GDK and XP totally hate each other when you are making
a pretty large map.
im so glad that wasnt the case about the recent improvements,
you know the games youve currently got in this trial,
i was speaking to some of the guys from Jedi and im affraid
theres going to be the same reply there.

BarryLogon works fine for me but after hearing of these problems with IE6 and Win98/ME I'm glad I didn't download BarryBar. Some of us can't help which OS we are on and IE6 is often classed as unreliable anyway.

Hopefully most of the software problems will have been worked out if a charge is introduced for the service.

i just think u should get rid of this crap (sorry for language ) system and make the servers availble as they used to be... why have u picked EF as one of the trials? im pretty sure u havent done it for all games, or have u ? dunno...

I agree it is total crap, but it works fine for me on winXP pro. Just alot of peeps arent bothering or dont know how to set it up.

yeah I've had the same problem only except with windows explorer not IE but every time I double clicked on my comp or my docs the comp locked,it wasn't till I uninstalled the barrysbar software that it was o.k. again.
lol I said it was great yesterday on the TT forum but I didn't have to use win exp till ealier today so I didn't know the problem was there shame,it's a nice add on without the probs.
