Idea for fixing Armorcrafters

Why is it that Armorcrafters are the only ones who need assistance from another crafter to create his goods?

Have been in the business for such a long time, this has enoyed me endlessly ever since I started.

An idea to "fix" this issue would be to say that the lvl 51 armor would require lvl 25 inners? Meaning the Armorcrafter would still have to keep up with his tailoring skills (tailoring is capped at 50% of Armorcrafting skills) to make the inners, but the armorcrafter would be able to create goods on his own instead of relying on other's help.

That a viable idea? Discuss!

Weaponcrafters/Fletchers used to be independent until the introduction of Legendary Weapons. Now to make one you need the assistance or the products of an Alchemist and Spellcrafter.

Suppose the idea of doing this to promote the fact this game is MMORPG...

So the fact you have to rely on others or ask for other peoples help gets you 'out and about' :) and thus the 'friends for life' scheme starts :)

Or... simply get you BB char to craft also lol

Just as a point of fact, the cap for Tailoring as an Armourcrafter is 75%, not 50% ;)

Though it would probably be easier to buy throw-back armour pieces (98% and lower) than it would be to get Tailoring to its cap (ofc you'd have to have capped AC first which is even more of a pain) and produce it yourself.

Irrelevant, only helps for up to BG3 level stuff.

Irrelevant - tailors dont actually make the AF9x parts needed to turn into chain/plate for any reason (other than gloves/boots while skilling up)

My point is just that its lame that armorcrafters are the only profession that REQUIRES a bot, why is it only us? Imagine if Weaponcrafters would need a tailor to make hilts or something :p

Yup it annoyed me aswell. So i did the Tailor on bot account thingy. Helped in the long run when i made a caster and infi and wasn't that expensive.

Yep, this is very annoying. Annoyed me so much in fact I made my own tailor :/
Would be nice if it was changed so an armourcrafter can make inners too.
Might be an idea to change what inners actually are. ie change from afXX cloth/leather, to something else that can't be worn as armour, their only use would be for inners. (if that makes sense heh ;) )

Well, not that it had anything to do with my point. I was just correcting him, so I guess it is irrelevant. I was just pointing out his mistake ;)

My mistake, I assumed AF102 chain needed AF102 leather (would make more sense if it did really)

Maybe that could be your awnser? Its just i'm pretty sure Mythic would just come back with 'design decision' if this was ever raised in a TL report (if there's even a TL who deals with crafting)

I like this idea, nothing worse than rellying on an alt, or m8 to knock up AF96 leather for the chain order you have, dividing your monies and materials between them.

Its damn tough enough for ACers now anyway, we cant make legendary gear, no one wants 99% armour any more, and MP is as rare as rocking horse shit. After all the hard work we put in we are reduced to "fix meh arti armour pls gov luv j00!". Acer and tailors have been shafted in ToA, so something should be done to put us back into business.

Well no one uses crafted weapons anymore I'd think?

Dunno when I saw the last template with a crafted weapon... Dunno what's the market for LWs but I'd guess not that big since the parts are quite expensive.
