listen m8, when u gotta game as rawkin as qw, u dont have time to keep posting msgs on a board. sure u can talk the talk, but can u walk the walk?
i guess q2 players seek solace on the forums contained within this board - perhaps they are bored and feel the need to vent their frustrations here...
qw aint 'dead and buried'; its become hardcore and more compact. just take a look at how many qw playas r regualrly on BW at 4, 5, 6 am. what proportion of q2 playas show this commitment?
Afraid to say that I Agree with TD. QW has died a death in the last few weeks .... People are not interested in it since Q3 was released, U can tell.
MCW (last season)
UKCL (??)
UKQFFL has popped off the mortal coil.
UKQA has stepped off the bus and into a very dark hole!
The lower leagues are being swallowed up by other games. In recent weeks there has been a lot of change in clans.
F9
WZ
AA
Mergers/Team leaving. I think QW DM Will still rawk but the fact that teams don't play QW much is becoming ever more evident!
Things that have killed QW have to be AimBots, Pak hackings etc etc. Every game in recent weeks has been fraught with Proxy issues and AimBots.
I've recently started playing TFC and I like it! There is a league starting soon (a'parently) so hopefully I can join/start a clan and get back to doing what I like.
not all clans are affected by this lethargy. Alot of clans are still very active. plus people have things to do in life etc.. plus alot of people have exams atm which would account for this. It aint dying imo and will not for a good while. Depends if Q3A has decent teamplay.

I can tell you don't have any Q2 servers on your GameSpy list. Ever looked at the Ra2 and CTF servers on a sunday or a monday? I regularly play online between 3am and midday and I know if I fire up GameSpy there'll still be players on a UK server no matter what time I want to play.
Same with Tribes, same with TFC, and almost as likely with Q3test.
A couple of days ago I thought I'd give Q2 a whirl again...as I've not tried it since it first came out...
I joined a FFA server through Gamespy...one that seemed to have quite a few people on it...I played in software mode, with FOV 90, and very basic config (are there complex ones??).
To put it mildy I mullered the poor people on the server.
QW may be dead and buried...I dunno, but Q2 clearly doesn't have the competition of QW!
Before anyone jumps up onto their high horse saying that I should try CTF, or RA, or whatever...I just found it a bit distressing that I could beat people who I presume play Q2 a lot.
I have no idea whether they are good or bad, but hey, I'm just going on what I saw!

Kat

theres enough similarity between q2 and qw that a good qw players will beat a lot of the people on Q2 FFA servers, besides most of the better players play ctf, Ra2, duel battle etc... (note I said "most")
*sigh* I only meant it as a joke. Quick replies to some people.
Ceno: yes some clans aren't dead. Personally I'm glad. The clan structure in QW is far better organised and mature than the constant clan hopping, b0rging and whoring that goes on in Q2. Im hoping if we all move over to Q3 thats one of the things that will carry over from QW.
Kat: QW DM is shite. Everyone acknowledges that
. Im not sure how it is now, but I remember when I used to play QW the FFA servers were certainly not filled with the decent players in the QW community. Simply, if you *do* want a good game, you're going to have to try RA2 (or CTF if you like it): an awful lot of the good players are gravitating that way, as well as the majority of the QWers who try Q2.
And of course, Carla: will you start going to bed at reasonable times? We do have matches to play ffs
(oh btw we won the UKRA2L last night, and still have a game in hand - not bad for a 5 game season
