I know theres a lot of un-happy peeps out there, i am one of them.

Ive played Daoc since beta and love the game to death, and i do belive goa are doing everything they can to put right the excalibur server prob.

But in the mean time how about a little info on whats happening, i mean it doesn't take long just to knock out a quick msg with a eta or what the prob is.

Morning folks,

There is a news for Excalibur that I will keep updated as I get more news, but for now, nothing really new. This isn't your "average server crash" (and no, server crashes are NOT that common), this one is a bit special. In fact, most of the zones are up and running, the problem it seems is only with the authentifcation server.
We're still working on it.

You hit the nail on the head there. I am rapidly losing any faith I may have had in GOA's caring about UK players at all.

We STILL don't have a 3rd UK server and they can't even keep the two current ones up.

We STILL don't have CSRs even though we pay the same as American players, who do get CSRs.

We have RightNever instead of a means of contacting those to whom we pay our money that works.

I LOVE this game but the endless incompetence and lack of concern of GOA is starting to piss me off...Excal had been almost unplayable for months because of how laggy and glitchy it is, yet still no upgrade despite more money being extracted form us.

Theyre may not be all that common, but this is the second crash in a week which has taken more than the "usual" amount of time to fix.

But as always with GOA theres an excuse ...

can some1 tell why the UK has only 2 severs ?.

Is this because GOA deem the UK dose'nt need a 3rd or is there a more indepth problem ?.

None of these two things have ever been promised to us, so even if it is the wish of the community, they have not made any promises in this direction they did not keep.

Maybe because GOA / Wanadoo is French and half of the player base is french. Why you think they gonna add a fourth french server this summer ?

But anyway ... excalibur is over populated if you want my opinion, since the english people + spanish + northen euro + some greeks and other non french/german speaking coutries all play on prydwen/excal i think ... a third english server would have been better.

the last french server Orcanie is not really that over populated, played there its like prydwen.


Give us Third server for god sake :(

I promise I will not play on excalibur but on prydwen.

Besides I can't find Cerbie on the list anymore, she was in renaris when the albs took the keep maybe they took her for breakfast.

Bah I will start cleaning the house otherwise.

well, thanks for information kemor but when 'just' a prime time relic raid causes the server to go down for almost 24hrs now i think its time to get some better hardware or whatever.

really poor performance after all this talk improved service and increasing subscription costs...

please tell me we are at least getting a free day, that should be the bare minimum for all the interuption that is SIMPLY due to insufficent servers ppl were only doing a relic raid, something the game should be able to cope with

i might mention the herald problems also....

well other games will come out soon enough and i'll enjoy this in its own limited way for now :eek:

i think-100krpts to alll lvl50's and a free lvl to all other chars is good compo :)

Omg this is almost like the time when they started patching without all the files. they had 2000 ppl on a channel on irc, waiting for them to get finished. When servers are down or like that patching asso when ppl cant play, they begin to spam forums and just sit around looking into an empty screen.
GET THE SERVERS UP so ppl can get their ingame lives back. TY

Sod a day free subscription...for those people who work their entire time and come home to relax in front of the computer or plan it on their day off it might be the only chance they have to play in the week...Have had quite a few days in the past where servers have been down nearly all day, we got feck all free for that inconvience.
Are you trying purposely to piss us off cause its working, i dont pay nearly £100 a year to have trained monkeys running the servers. Become a proffesional company or make your game free to play!

Maybe something good will come out of this? .. Maybe you will upgrade Excalibur alittle faster now? Otherwise who knows.. maybe Midgard will plan another prime time RR on hibernia tonight :p

can someone explain why it is mids take 150 ppl for rr hibs counter with 100 and server crashes but the albs manage to take 200 into mid with noproblems.
i belive each realm has a diff sub server then does that mean the hib one is crap
it seams that way as every rr into hibby lands crashes but rr into mid or alb only a few if your unlucky crash

it wasn't only 100 hibs. I did a /who collory just 1-2 minutes before the server crashed and it showed 156 hibs and /who bri leith (zone where druim cain is) showed 87 hibs ;)

And there was alot Mids onway to Dagda :D

It's not just people who are in the frontiers... It's all the people who are exping in the hib homelands aswell.

At primetime Sunday there was probably 500+ hibs there total, then the 200 mids invading, and the 150 albs who came to spoil the party.

At 10am Sunday last week there was probably 150 mids total, 200 albs, and 20 hibs. A big difference.


You CANNOT do full-on primetime relic raids on these servers (edit: or at least with Excalibur's population)

Wish we could get Mythic to give the reins of DAOC in Europe to another company, GOA clearly aren't up to the job.
