I found myself also asking that very question. Is there a functional reason behind this wild desire?

I mean I don't like mobiles but not to the extend that I want to block them and have the turnip owners hassling me :)

lol, I must admit, it would be quite funneh to block someone talking, just when they're in the 'heat' of a conversation.

The best part is, they're not going to know why their mobile aint working :)

I'd be rather concerned about the amount of microwave radiation you'd be exposing yourself to, carrying one of these around.

Note the warning for people with pacemakers?

Much more interesting is a scanner which allows you to listen in to peeps conversations. I have a friend who is issued with one through work and one Saturday night ( with a few beers in us mind ) we listened to a conversation between a prostitute and a client. Best entertainment Ive had in a long time.

other than posting here that is:rolleyes:

The best thing is, this is really really old news, bbc rehashed it to put up on their website. Lack of deaths in Afghanistan for them to report?

Nope Chet your wrong again. I realise they are illegal for ordinary peeps to use, what Im stating is that there are people authorised to use them in the UK.

This gadget that I witnessed was the state of the art piece used by HM *ahem* undercover employees ((eg Anti drug, counter terrorism)shall we say. Picks up two way digital conversation and perfectly legal for them to use in the UK.

I've been on a course all no with no internet access :( nearly drove me mad!
Anyway, back to the subject in hand...
I want one because in the office at work there are certain people who have mobile phones and don't take them with them when they leave their desks. Consequently, all day long there are all these idiotic tunes playing away because no-one is answering the damn things. I'd be great to just press a button and silence the lot! I have a mobile phone myself but I always keep it with me and it's on vibrate so I don't disturb other people. Mr. Considerate me. ;)

Well not really, seeing as I was referring to the blocking device not the snooping one.
