well, at this point.. it seems it worked, after the thread from moderators, i've seen less posts just containing +1
and banning accounts result in less visit, less visits result in income from advertising... i think mythic forbids buffbots at the same time bw bans people to the right and left

They did not intend to ban people, merely reset their post counts. I think thats threat enough to stop farming (as it defeats the object of it). However the mods kinda never backed up their threats with actual actions.
