....an XBox, that is. I played on Amped in Toys R Us. I thought the game was average, but would have been a lot better if it wasn't for that GOD DAMN CONTROLLER!. The thing was big, smaller that I thought mind. The thing that gets me is how can a controller that big have buttons that are spaced too close together that when I try to press B, I end up pressing that annoying black button which has no name (i think) above it, which changes the view! Extremley irritating. The analog stick is also placed high above the controller and is awkward to grasp. Plus the console itself probably wouldn't fit through my door frame, and tbh i wasn't overly impressed by the graphics.

They said on Gamespot that they were going to re-design the controller to something more PS like.

:):p

i like x box controller. i have pritty big hands so this fits nicely, but the buttons are a bit squashy.

I dont think x box is really a games more machine, more like the ultimate home entertainment things.

I've played HALO

and it's very GOOD, I just wish I could get used to the pad to enjoy it properly.

It was okay, when I played project gotham, but that's prolly coz I play MSR quite alot.

You move with the D-pad, and look around with the lower analogue stick, it's awkward coz it's so low on the pad

gah the stupidity of MS amazes me sometimes...
that controller is horrid...
yet their PC sidewinder pads a the most comfortable pads ive ever used?

why dont they use one of their sidewinder pc pads for it... they fit in your hands like gloves their amazing!

No. I got some kind of Sidewinder for the PC. It don't do diagonals unless it's in a really good mood. Makes playing fighting games on emu quite tricky :/

No better than MSR on the dreamcast, just slightly better graphics, cars, & scoring system.

...played again today, on DOA3, Wreckless and Halo. The pad wasn't as big as i remembered, but the buttons were still squashed.

DOA3 was average but with incredible graphics.

Wreckless was *quite* good, but didn't touch GTA3

Halo was good. End.

Interesting really, the XB is starting to grow on me.......:(

Apparently one of the Xbox games has a patch out for it already. I think it's to stop ScanDisk from running before it loads up :)

Played halo again, realized that u use analogue thunb sticks for moving & aiming, felt much better, but the way u drive the vehicle is well wierd, using the same control method, as on foot.

Considering you'll spend hundreds on GF3, just to play halo on PC,

xbox might be worth 3 ton, especially if titles as good as halo keep coming.

I have enough credits from selling off all my original DC games and stuff to Computer Exchange. ;)

Should be enough for a GC and a game.

Which one though?

Monkeyball is brilliant, but I love Star Wars games so Rogue Leader may be first.
