Preferably one that will get me the fook out of this cold, wet and windy country (England :p).

Can anyone give me a clue as to what sites are a good place to start looking? I have no idea where to begin. :)

Not sure websites are the place to look for jobs to be honest.

What kind of work do you want to do? If you just want to go abroad then just wait till the end of May and go to a Spanish island somewhere and work at the bars and clubs there, you barely earn enough money to get by but lots of people do it just for the social aspect and for the weather.

If you want more serious work then think of people you want to work for, most company websites have a corporate page with vacancies advertised there. I remember when I was playing Star Wars Galaxies, LucasArts were advertising for game testers :D But the pressure of moving to California and playing games all day for a living put me off ;)

I was thinking more along the lines of something useful...probably a researchy / conservationy type of job. Been looking at some of these 'volunteer' websites and although the conservation work is interesting and based in Africa it would mean shelling out £3K plus just for the opportunity which is ... not an option. :D

I'll have a look at some of the international conservation sites though. Mebbe they have something of interest. :)

I was offered a PS2 game testing job a few years back...but it was based in Slough. Ew. No thanks. ;)

Well, you can always try the local job centre.

The one near me actually does searches from England to Japan and the USA, so that might be a good place to start. :)

:puke:

Noooooooooooooooo. God the Disney Stores are bad enough over there. I'd probably go postal if I ever actually went to Disney Land/World. Put one foot over the threshold of such a store and you get assaulted "How are you today?" in a sickly sweet voice.

Arghghghghghgh, the nightmares will come back now!

-Ath, not entirely kidding.

Hah, there's one thing worse than Disneyland.

And that, my friends, is going when there is a cheer leading convention on there.

Especially when your friend is a good looking male.

It was like a biblical plague, if God had ever hated anyone enough to send a plague of bouyant young cheerleaders.

N.B. Maybe if I was male I would think differently, I suppose...

Cheerleaders are terrifying. In fact any large group of women is a terrifying thing, they become screaming harpies ready to tear the flesh from your skin whilst flashing their perfect smiles and their precancerously tanned thighs.

You are living evidence to the contrary.

Woh-pah! :D

Umm...I don't think I need a life to get a job. I have a job already but it gives me urges...bad urges...

Why isn't there a website that lists lots of amazingly interesting and highly paid jobs in far off distant lands with a warm tropical climate? WHY?! ~sulks~

I really hope that you weren't placing much confidence in getting many positive replies to your query.

Let us know what your skills you have ;)

Heh, not really but as I had no idea where to start I figured that even the least helpful reply here would still be of some use...and I might be able to get some petz moolah out of it as well. ~cough~

Hmm, my main skillz (the ones I am most interested in using this year) are in the sciencey-researchy area. I have a degree in zoology and I am heading back to uni in a year or so to do my MSc and I have already done a fair bit of field work out in teh African bush. Wouldn't mind doing something like that again but in a more civilized country because I have gotten used to the soft life. Sissy needs his DSL and 'leccy for his iPod. :) I also used to dabble in web programming last year but I am totally sick of web design and programming now.

Har...I was hoping to stay away from the curse of the zoologist that is being a camel poopa-scoopa...but I guess I don't have much choice. ~pulls on rubber gloves and knee length booties~ ;)

Hmmmmmm

You need a job and do_jo needs a hobby....

That can't just be coincidence? Surely?

*introduces dr_jo and Sissyfoo*
