I need a car!

I am without a car and need one ASAP!

I want to spend around £2500-£4000. Wanted a Focus but I can't find one worth looking at on short notice. So far, saw 3 that looked nice on Auto Trader, called them up and they said there weren't any unlisted problems or concerns with the cars. Do some checking... all 3 of them show up as insurance write-offs... nice.

I want:
- Medium sized 3 door hatch.
- About a 1.6 engine (Insurance is still a fucking pain for me, keep it to around group 6!)
- Around 6-8 years old would do.
- Not a Honda Civic because the front end makes me want to puke.

Please recommend stuffs.

Pains me to say it but I think the most trouble free option would be a Yaris. It's probably even a bit under-budget.

Have you had a look on gumtree? Tend to get more private sellers than on autotrader.

Do what i used to do, buy a banger between 150-250 sterling, drive it into the ground, no servicing, brakes oil or anything like that.

When it dies, just buy a new one.

Had one banger lasted lasted almost 18 months with no costs except petrol.
