I have just installed the UK retail version.

Patched it up from that to 2228 (I think).

Clicked Online game and it seems to hang at the Sierra announcement window??

It works on the Lan/Solo game but I wanna get online.

The manual says Register, but I can't even get to a register page.


WTF is going on??

Ono, some people have been having problems with the Installer/Updater in Tribes2. This sounds like that problem.

If it is being a real problem to you, then how about snagging the "Tribes 2 First Aid" utility, cleaning out your Tribes 2 installation, and try it again?
I appreciate that it's a finnicky workaround, but I've heard good things about this "First Aid" utility. You can get it from http://tribes2update.sierra.com

Ono, it sounds like the installer bug, if you read the text in that announcement window it tells you where you can download the fix.

i had the same problem except if i just left the updater, after about 45 seconds it sprung into life and seemed ok - fookin computers - you just luv em and h8 em all @ the same time

Ono, it is fucked, i had this problem but it is fixed in the update that comes after that screen. What you do is click skip and it goes straight on and updates the entire auto updater. Voila, prooblems gone.

I had this problem - went off for a cuppa, came back ten mins later and it had sorted itself. Dunno if it'll work for you, but it did for me...and besides there really is nothing like Typhoo.

same here, just waited around and it sorted itself (after about three tries were i had to ctrl - atl - del).

Mine won't patch at all. Complains about missing files. Maybe I got a dodgy patch when I did the first 2 (downloaded them rather than auto-updated.) Have to reinstall from scratch I'll bet
