Daft Punk's Discovery videos are pretty leet, despite the generic animation style.
Tool's Schism is very suave, though their latest offering Parabol(a) is at the other end of the scale - being utterly dire.
Rammstein's Sonne & Links, two three four five six seven etc. are both fairly good as recent videos go, too.

Shame almost every video these days is just the band on a stage, or walking around in black and white miming.

one of the things that does annoy me, is movie tie-ins with music vids. slipknot - my plague springs to mind. resident evil is a decent flick, but the song annoys the fuck out of me.

also in the my plague vid, its hard to tell when they cut between the zombie scenes from resi, and scenes of the 'pit' (if they went within 100 yards of a real pit, they'd die) with all the oh so cool slipknot 'maggots'.

conclusion : good film, bad main music tie in.
