Anyways I was thinking good time to make a new start at things so wondered what you enlightened and highly educated people though would be a great job to do?!

what Tilda said. Btw, you can start your own business aswell: DAoC farming...you think I'm kidding? An unemployed guy made that with Ultima Online and he's making money in the 6digits area per year by buying/selling accos and the items/money on it.

If you don't have family obligations, try stuff with nightshifts. People usually hate to do that work so you'll find something easier and it'll be better payed. Also a think ppl hate is working as binman (correct english?) but I know that at least in Germany it's very well payed....but it's a hard and not much rewarding work.

Also job center might have some courses for you so you can qualify for a different type of job.

Failing that all, pirate is the way to go
