I've played DAoC for about 5 months, and I had a very good time. After my first lvl 50 it became quite boring tho, and I don't think I'll continue my subscription.

I bought SWG yesterday, and while it's confusing at first, I couldn't stop loving it. It has it all, and boy is it fun :)

The only shitty thing about it was the price... But you can afford anything, depends on how badly you want it :)

I wanted a trial too, but since they don't offer that yet, I took the chance and bought it. No dissapointments yet :)

If you liked crafting in DAoC, SWG is 1000 times better, EVERYTHING is player made, its a player driven ecenomy :)

The trial seems to have stopped, it was splashed all over the website, but not anymore. Perhaps Gamespy are running one, not sure about that tho :(

The controls are certainly different to DAoC and the style of game is much more role-playing orientated, also the level grind is nothing like DAoC, some players achieve mastery in a week (no more 5 month lvl 50 boredom).

The focus of the game isnt powergame, or level grind, its to live in the SW universe and each player contributes to this experience in his/her own small way. Everything is player-led and as such you can chose to do pretty much anything that you want to.

Is it funnier than DAoC? The only thing i found funny about DAoC was the players (hmm, badly worded) and SWG is pretty much the same, however if i was asked to chose which game made me laugh more, i would chose SWG simply because there is a lot more player interaction, players never seem to get angry with each other and as uber drops, otd's etc dont exist, there are a lot less petty squabbles over who should get the glowy sword :)

The only problem is the price and the fact that if you live outside the USA you will need to get the game imported.
