Silly boy, at Steam prices you probably overpaid by at least £50.

Steam
Dragon Age £29.99
Borderlands £26.99
FM 2010 £29.99
Painkiller £17.99
Left 4 Dead 2 £26.99
Total £131.95

Play.com
Dragon Age £26.99
Borderlands £24.99
FM 2010 £29.99
Painkiller £28.99
Left 4 Dead 2 £26.99
Total £137.95

Game
Dragon Age £24.99
Borderlands £24.99
FM 2010 £29.99
Painkiller Not available, average price used £23.49
Left 4 Dead 2 £29.99
Total £133.45

A massive saving of £1.50!

Obviously if you spent the day wandering around all the horrible little shops you could probably get it even cheaper but who wants to spend a day doing that? You also don't have to dick around with disks, your games are always there in one easily managed list, even if you log in on someone else's PC (DL required obviously) You get the patches without having to search around for them, there are bucket loads of indi games on there for the price of a couple of pints too. Steam is the best thing that has happened to PC gaming.

I wish I could pay in £ on Steam.

thank you for putting them prices up raven, though it was cheaper overall. I will admit that steam prices are sometime high for older games, but most of the time there pretty good.

Also ive got 2 of them on pre-downloaded now so that also another bonus to using steam imo.

good luck playing your online DRM games without any internet access or if steam goes bankrupt

You can play them in offline mode
There is very little DRM on steam...what would be the point?
Valve are very unlikely to go bust

I feel your pain, bro. A euro buys you a dollar and a half these days :/

If you live in the UK you will be charged £. The difference between € & £ is that the pound is adjusted on how powerful it was before the financial crisis.

is that per month? and is it p2p?

You can pay £3-4 and have a 20-40gb download limit, or pay a little more for unlimited downloads.

Probably best to google how newsgroups work. All I "think" I know is it converts everything into text which is much faster to download.
