I get thrown off Barrys servers

Hi there, anyone have any ideas why I'm getting thrown off barrys duel servers... I haven't tried to use them for quite a while (been playing CCTF ) but now I find it gives me the initial map screen, drawers the icons for the players and the scrunches up and throws me off.
The only thing I can think of is that it's seeing an invalid pak file. I've never cheated in my life...the only pak files I have in baseq3 apart from the standard ones are new maps and the bot files for the harlequinn bot (single player games). To avoid any chance that there's something in any of these I pulled out ALL of them...my baseq3 is now bare minimum pak0-3 and none of them have been touched since April (I assume when the point release came out).
Anyway I do not get this problem on jolt servers or demon servers...only barrys and wireplay.

Any ideas ???

Also...bizzarely...I got thrown off the barrys CCTF server last night (the first time ever) and it said I didn't client check properly...again I have no idea why the only thing different from deafult cctf is that i use default ID skins rather than those supplied by removing the CCTF skin pak so I quit and put the default CCTF skin pak in it worked fine. Anyways I spoke to another player (Diabolic) who I know doesn't use the CCTF supplied skins and like me prefers IDs default ones and he said he still had the skin pak taken out...so I quit and took mine out again...rejoined and absolutely no problem this time ???

Is my machine the cause of this ? Do you think I should reinstall quake3 etc. maybe even rebuild from scratch ?

check cctf folder, you may have new or corrupt pak's in there, take them out one by one and find out.

ta but although this might be the cause of my CCTF hiccup it would not explain the inability to join a duel server (as only baseq3 downwards should be referenced) - to be sure though I totally removed my CCTF folder and tried to join a duel server...once again, screen scrunches up and I get thrown off

I have been experiencing some annoying bugs in windows recently (doesn't everyone ) and I'm well overdue for a rebuild (last one was before Christmas) so I'm thinking if no one posts something that sorts it by tomorrow lunchtime then I'll just trash my system and start fresh again.

Hopefully someone can come up with something before then of course though !

This sounds like an OSP issue, as the BW duel servers actually use OSP, what you need to do is to allow downloads
to do this type:

cl_AllowDownload 1

this will download the clientside osp files onto your pc and you should be able to connect

Well what do you know ? I changed the cl_AllowDownload to '1' as The_Stranger suggested and 2 OSP pak downloads later I was on the server and playing with no probs.
