Hmmm, it's confusing, what's the point in PVP?
I just can't get into it, I'm too used to being friendly, it just seems totally weird the idea of attacking someone for no apparent reason, when I can just get the xp from a mob, who won't remember me and come back to get me later.

Up to lvl 9 everybody's being friendly, am I supposed to suddenly turn on them?
When I get to 10, I'm just going to get ganked to oblivion cos there's a shit load purps to me .

The whole thing seems weird, pointless and a bit uncomfortable.

its a bit stupid coz theres no punishment if you do pk so when you go near someone you get paranoid and start attacking incase they do. unlike other PvP mmorpg theres no policing system and the guards dont do fuk all if you get attacked so its not so fun :(.

I think this is the main reason why pvp in DAOC isn't a long-term runner. It wasn't designed for pvp from the bottom up. If you compare it to games like UO (pre-trammel) that were designed with pvp in mind, there was a proper balance to the system (i.e. you couldnt just go and kill an innocent under a guard's nose and get away with it). Without proper balance, it just becomes grief for those who don't have the time to max out their characters at the start, or dont wish to be in one of the big guilds.

And...

... another thing that frustrates me is, when I'm exping alone in plains and need to rest after battle with about 50% health left, there comes 4-8 oranges/reds to me and attack.

And I'm lvl 11 atm.. huoh.

pathetic :)

At the moment my char is lv 9 and I do once again experience the extreme pointlessness of the level thread mill. In addition to this, I have to kill green mobs or I will have no cash to afford a new armor...
*yawn* *sigh* *whine*

A better PvP-server would have:
- guards on patrol all over the land
- attacking any other player will aggro guards.
- charcopy from all other servers - I want to play, not level!

These things could all be fixed in patches to Camlann right...?

Totaly agree 100%, CharCopy in a patch or even for a small admin fee would reeely improve the PvP server, I cant be arsed to level another 50... it was fun to 35, but 35-50 sucked...

And there should be a penalty for grey ganking or ganking guild members that are not flagged as enemy!.

It is fun for the co-operatvie aspect and duels in the game and I like it even though it is annoying when you get cowarly people attacking mid/after pull etc etc.

A PvP-Server where you have safety-areas which are controlled by guards, not a zone-switch.

At the moment, you cannot kill someone in TNN because of a local safety-flag. But you can do bindstone-camping which is rather low I think. Better a PvP-server which requires some skill instead of standing at a player-spawn-spot and nuking them to death.

If guards define where you can "safely" kill or not, it would be better. I.e., you could attack someone in the druid's chamber, but if you do it out in front of the palace, the guards aggro you. Would make for some interesting strategies.
