tried that once (standing on top of bard to protect him - not rushing into group of mezzed enemies)
got bitched at by bard for breaking mez
relegated pbaoe back to keep defense and PvE only (like pretty much everything in mana spec line except for snare.. oh the joys of utility)

hehehehe, when I was 36, I went on a rez mission behind enemy lines to heal a fairly well known 50. After rezzing(and using every iota of mana I had) they ran straight back at the person that killed them and proceeded to attack them.

Bard protection

Have to say that pretty much does sum up life as a bard in rvr and tbh I don't play DAOC a lot at the mo, however it's half the reason why I created a bard myself - got fed up as a tank of watching my lev 50 bard in the grp not do what i needed and the grp needed.

It does however point a number of things out - basically about 50-60% of people in rvr actually know what to do.

eg: Tank .. when u attack - start with a slam, as this does not break mezz, also - it's generally a good idea to take out those casters/mezzers first, as they are the ones who DO the damage!!
They tend to die quick too

Still don't understand why grps do not protect their important classes - BARD (MEZ, Songs, Speed), CASTERS(Mez - depending on class, dmg output), DRUID (Heals, Root!). Sorry but tanks were built to look after themselves in fight, with help from the 3 above.

Tactics in RVR are poor 99% of the time ... wtf is this idea that the game is about zerging? I prefer rvr from around 2:00am (GMT) till 8:00am (GMT) - why because u can play as 1 or 2 grps running around frontier not together, but seperate using a chat grp to plan. That is more fun and does at least show some skill and tbh most of the time the fights are even between the 3 realms.


Damn need lev 50 with Karldin - lol blue con Bard in RVR kinda is a target ! Still if they kill me hopefully druid/warden survives

Mezzing tanks, i donno. Every damn tank has purge nowadays (Hey i do too, im not mad!), but casters....

You should try it out, mezz a tank and 50% of the time he purges. Mezz a caster (Especially cloth casters) and its not even 20%

So if i encounter a FG of enemies, i always try to mezz the casters first (With AoE castable mezz) and hope i can get a castable mezz off on the tanks that are almost on me, or just use my insta AoE.

Do other bards hav any ideas on this?

Juanita... yeah mezzing mages first is good Normally the healers r at the back tooo so they usually get mezzed too... A good way to get the lot mezzed is to run at a full group at full speed... click on a mage and when in range mez them, and whilst casting mez do an insta area mez on the front line tanks. And then watch someone do an area void spell and release em all

Another bard problem
I'm sure a lot of bards have this problem but atm its almost impossiable for me to play ne other char, I try with my warden and its ow no we haven't got a bard go get urs and god sake if I try to play my eld!
I don't mind to much cus I enjoy playing my bard but would be nice to play the others once in a while
I've got stuck playing support chars now, some1 needs to do it. It would be nice if every1 could have at least 1 support char then we could get a bit of time to play other chars.

imo bards should have been given a second form of CC instead of insta mezz.
bards are the main CC in hib and yet we only got one form of CC, i think this is a joke.

For some good shade fun...when the battle is joined stand on the bard......a nice freshly purged tank will be delived right into your waiting PA chain.....and the Stun and DoT will stick I wish you could see the expression on the face of a lvl 50 Pole hugger as you make a nice dent in his shiny epic armour "It's my Bard and I'm keeping him/her" We know every Alb and Middie has it in for our innocent Bards when people use this too their advantage it's hilarious fun

its a simple and VERY effective way to enjoy the game, - you inevitably get a good rvr group.
